ForumsSoftware ← skins or scaling in kaivo

Not sure if my first post went through, so I'm trying again.
I'm old, and my eyesight is not great. I find kaivo nearly unusable, because the font size is so small and the contrast so poor.
I wish you'd add the ability to scale the window/text size, and/or to provide skins that are higher contrast. Not everyone is young and eagle-eyed. Try to be more inclusive!

Thanks for writing with your feedback. I have good news: you can scale Kaivo by grabbing on the little triangle in the bottom right corner, then dragging the window to the size you want.

I am working on a dark mode that will provide more contrast and I'll include it in all the plugins when I update them.

Hi Randy

Four years later, I resumed using my Keivo and Virta. I re-downloaded them, installed them, and activated them.
When I loaded these two software (whether it was the AU version or the VST2 version), the UI was quite small but very smooth. So I enlarged the UI by dragging the edges, but everything started to become sluggish, including all knob and the entire instrument window.
I'm using Mac Ventura, Ableton 12.VST and AU versions of Keivo and Virta. All of them have this problem. However, Sumu has the VST3 version and it runs perfectly without any issues at all.
Perhaps this is a graphical bug?

Thanks for letting me know. I too have seen the older, JUCE-based plugins (that's Kaivo, Aalto and Virta) get slower over time. Meanwhile of course I've been working on Sumu (and Aaltoverb) and a whole new, GPU-based graphics framework.

I'll see if there is a quick fix for the behavior of the older plugins on newer DAWs. If there's no such quick fix, I'll update them to use the new graphics code. Either way I'll have a fix soon.
