turn an FSR (x15) touch grid into an 8x8 matrix

my limited electronics/coding chops are restricting my ability to realise a robust and engaging touch interface (designed for disabled musicians) - my 5x3 grid of DIY FSRs is working fine; can I use a similar design, hijack Randy Jones' excellent multitouch prototype concept (ie an 8x8 matrix) using the same/similar materials and code?
